Meet the Women Behind the Festival
At the heart of this festival are two remarkable women whose passion for food, community, and service has inspired something much bigger than a single event.

Phouthaivanh Wilkerson
Chan Sourignavong
With 29 years of dedicated service in law enforcement, Phouthaivanh Wilkerson has dedicated much of her career to protecting, serving, and strengthening communities across Minnesota. Her commitment to public service has always been rooted in one belief: strong communities are built by bringing people together. A natural leader, entrepreneur, and advocate, Phouthaivanh is known for her integrity, hard work, and unwavering dedication to creating opportunities that celebrate culture, connection, and positive change. Through this festival, she hopes to create a space where families, local businesses, and diverse communities can gather, support one another, and build lasting relationships.
Known by many simply as Chef Chan, Chan Sourignavong brings heart, heritage, and incredible flavor to everything she creates. After immigrating from Laos, she pursued a career as a welder while never letting go of her passion for cooking. She owned the beloved Magic Thai Cafe for many years, where she shared authentic, home-style recipes with the community. Today, as the owner of Rockin Asian Food Truck, Chef Chan continues that tradition by serving fresh flavorful dishes inspired by Thai, Lao, and Chinese cuisines. While she often prefers working behind the scenes in the kitchen, her talent, creativity, and dedication are the driving force behind every meal she serves.
Our Shared Mission
Together, Phouthaivanh and Chan share one mission for this festival: to create a welcoming space where families, friends, and neighbors can celebrate Asian culture through food, music, and community. Their goal is to uplift local vendors, introduce new flavors in a fun and approachable way, and inspire future generations to be proud of their roots while building bridges across cultures.
